The Fort Lauderdale Chapter SAR is committed to supporting the construction and dedication of the First Amphibious Assault Memorial. It is a monument to the Continental navy and marine forces that attacked and raided New Providence (Nassau) Island in the Bahamas in early March 1776. There is no tribute to this Continental Navy and Marine victory on U.S. soil which this memorial project will correct. Dedication of the monument is scheduled for March 14, 2026, at Pompano Beach, Florida. For more information, visit the official website for the project at the link below.
